Innovative Packaging

The 4 enemies of superior EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) are: light, air, temperature and time. Therefore, we offer our extra virgin olive oil in innovative packaging with the following benefits:

  1. Protection from Light: “The Tube” packaging consists of an outer box made of recycled cardboard that protects the inner bag containing the EVOO from exposure to light. This protection helps prevent photo-oxidation and preserves the quality and taste of the oil.

  2. Reducing Exposure to Air: “The Tube” packaging includes a lightweight bag with a built-in faucet. As you use the EVOO, the bag collapses, minimizing the amount of air in contact with the remaining oil. This helps prevent oxidation and extends the freshness of the EVOO.

  3. Longer Shelf Life: The reduced exposure to light and air that “The Tube” packaging provides can significantly extend the shelf life of EVOO. It can stay fresh and flavorful for a longer time than EVOO stored in traditional glass or plastic bottles and tin containers.

  4. Easy to Dispense: “The Tube” packaging is designed for easy dispensing, with a tap that allows you to pour the desired amount of oil without exposing the entire contents to air. This feature promotes convenience and reduces waste.

  5. Cost-effective: “The Tube” packaging is than glass bottles, both in terms of production and transportation. It reduces the weight and risk of breakage associated with glass containers, making it a more economical option.

  6. Environmentally friendly: “The Tube” packaging is generally considered more environmentally friendly than glass bottles because it produces less waste and requires less energy for production and transportation.

  7. Tap the desired amount of EVOO from Casa Astrid “The Tube” (best kept between 15 and 17 degrees) into our Casa Astrid 250/500 or 750ml bottles and seal with our optional pour spouts.

Harvest 2025/2026. Best Before: July 2027

This extra virgin received the Gold Medal New York 2023 by New York International Olive Oil Council.

Our challenge: keeping Casa Astrid’s award-winning extra virgin, fresh to the last drop combined with beautiful, sustainable and efficient packaging.

The sensational taste of our extra virgin olive oil “Originale” begins by tasting a fruity, green olive of medium intensity, with a hint of almond and olive leaves. Also expect flavors of green almond and wild herbs, topped with hints of spicy pepper.

The Tube provides a practical and efficient solution to combat EVOO’s four enemies by protecting it from light, air and heat, and facilitating easy dosing. It can ensure that the EVOO remains fresh and high quality for a longer time, making it a popular choice for our customers.

[81

post-6878","product","type-product","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","product_cat-olive-oil","first","instock","taxable","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple

The Tube 3L Extra Virgin Olive Oil - Gold Medal | Casa Astrid

<meta name="description" content="Award-winning extra virgin olive oil from Umbria in innovative 3L packaging.
