The 4 enemies of superior EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) are: light, air, temperature and time. Therefore, we offer our extra virgin olive oil in innovative packaging with the following benefits:
- Protection from Light: “The Tube” packaging consists of an outer box made of recycled cardboard that protects the inner bag containing the EVOO from exposure to light. This protection helps prevent photo-oxidation and preserves the quality and taste of the oil.
- Reducing Exposure to Air: “The Tube” packaging includes a lightweight bag with a built-in faucet. As you use the EVOO, the bag collapses, minimizing the amount of air in contact with the remaining oil. This helps prevent oxidation and extends the freshness of the EVOO.
- Longer Shelf Life: The reduced exposure to light and air that “The Tube” packaging provides can significantly extend the shelf life of EVOO. It can stay fresh and flavorful for a longer time than EVOO stored in traditional glass or plastic bottles and tin containers.
- Easy to Dispense: “The Tube” packaging is designed for easy dispensing, with a tap that allows you to pour the desired amount of oil without exposing the entire contents to air. This feature promotes convenience and reduces waste.
- Cost-effective: “The Tube” packaging is than glass bottles, both in terms of production and transportation. It reduces the weight and risk of breakage associated with glass containers, making it a more economical option.

- Tap the desired amount of EVOO from Casa Astrid “The Tube” (best kept between 15 and 17 degrees) into our Casa Astrid 250/500 or 750ml bottles and seal with our optional pour spouts.
